I picked up the keys to the house I’m renovating in December 2021.
Since then I’ve found a handful more and I’ve been meaning to do something with them for a while, to create something with them to put in the house when it’s finished.
And the odd lucky penny, which I’m gonna need if I’m ever going to get this place finished… roll on the end of 2023…

I’ve not been back to work on the house since I hurt my back a few weeks ago, got a trapped nerve in my leg and numbness down the front of my right leg, so I’ve been taking it easy.
But I get bored easily, so I decided to do something with the keys.
I’d ordered some deep frames from Ikea and started looking around the house for some colourful paper or card to use as a background.
I’d just had a work laptop arrive in a DHL box, so I chopped that up and made sure to use bits that had some wear and dirt on them to look a bit more interesting.
Now it was time to try out my new favourite toy (sorry sister sledge (hammer) and little chainsaw but you’ve been temporarily usurped by a glue gun!)

I thought the frames looked a little empty round the edges, so I fished out some little model houses my mom had brought back from Malta, a glass bottle stopper (broken, which also came from Malta) and a little metal star that jangles when you shake it (from my friend Nicola).

For the moment these are scattered around the lounge in the place I’m renting, but I think I’ll put a few up in the office and maybe the lounge at the renovation when it’s done.
Who knew glue guns were so much fun.. I’ve been looking around the house to see what else I can glue……. 🙂
